CNM Cinematic Update 7

Characters:

We opted not to have any facial animation for Arya, so we are using the game resolution mesh for her.

The soldier will have a brief cameo in the video before the demon soldier appears.

And here is the progress for the demon soldier in engine:

Environment and Props:

Current pictures of the environment in the engine. Lighting has been improved for the current shots:

Effects:
Just in case we want the soul effect to have something come out of it like the body of the mother, we created a first pass in after effects and in engine:

Animation:
Rigging is done for Arya, and is currently in progress for the demon soldier as well. Here are some update videos for them:

Camera:
We will show in engine how the camera layout looks. Here is a video if you want to see it outside the engine:

CNM Cinematic Update 6

Here are our updates for this week:

Characters (Cinematic Version):

For Arya, we are still trying to figure out the hair. If we run out of time for the cinematic version of her, the game resolution version is always available and being worked on for the rig currently.

Soldier:

Game resolution version is done, this can be used for animation, since he does not show up for long in the cinematic.

Demon Soldier:

In Progress, and almost done!

Environment and Lighting:

Updated Models and Textures:

Tank is now complete:

VFX:

The Demon Soldier transition is currently being worked on, and here is the progress:

Animation: Animation is currently underway, the game resoultion version of Arya is being used as a placeholder for cinematic Arya, and the demon soldier and regular soldier are being worked on now.

Camera: We have a nicely blocked out camera layout for Sequencer in the Engine that we can show right now.

CNM Cinematic Update 5

There have been a couple of changes since the last status update.

Storyboard:

Characters:

Chunzi has finalized the demon soldier concept and will begin creating him in ZBrush. She chose letter B.

Game resolution Arya has been created and colored. For the next week, she will be upgraded to cinematic resolution, ready for rigging and animation. She would require a mouth bag and teeth, as well as upgraded hair, which is still being researched. UE4.11's hair shader will help with this process, but if we cannot implement it in time, hair cards and two-sided thin hair cards will have to be used instead.

A quick sketch of the new soldier outfit.

This is the regular soldier's progress. He is about 50% done with the sculpt.

Env. and Props:

Snow has been added to the environment to give it a little more life and add more stuff to it. Here is what Jose and Dave have been working on.

Lots of environment stuff being created in the game is being implemented for the cinematic build as well.

Animation:

Arya's game resolution mesh is being tested for rigging practice, since her cinematic is still being developed.

VFX:

Fog has been updated to reflect the mood that is similar to the one set in the storyboard. Lighting is still being iterated on.

A current shot of the environment before we delve into the engine.

Here is our progress on the characters:

Arya:

She is almost done! Her hair and her shoes need to be worked on the most, and her hand needs to be polished. After that, it will be time to retopologize her!

Soldier:

Made different gasmasks for his design, and a functional bag for the 3rd design

Demon Soldier:

Here are 3 variations of the demon soldier.

Environment, Vehicles, and VFX:

Foggy first pass at the environment

The tank model is currently in development as well:
It is based off of a BMP-1 tank.

Schedule:

We have had to change the schedule around a little bit since the last time. Our estimates were more ambitious than expected so we had to shift dates around a little bit. Here is our new schedule:
